Speedometer Swap 700 1986

Hi.
The 1990 instuments appear to be a different type to the earlier models my 1990 has the 940 type front end bodywork and it seems the instrument cluster changed at the same time at least on UK models. The speedo may be the same but the other gauges are wired differently so the printed cicuit that the instruments attach to may not be the same as yours.
Unless someone comes up with a definite answer I would suggest you look for a second hand unit from a pre 1998 car or get yours repaired.
Also, are you sure it is the speedo instrument at fault? The rear axle mounted sender unit and it`s connections can cause this problem as could the wiring to the speedo.
Colin.
