High altitude problems 200 1982

when i lived in aspen colorado my chevy pickup (carbed) would do the same thing if shut down immediately after a long uphill stretch. altitude was 7-9000 ft. the only way i could cure it was to allow the engine to "idle down" for a minute or two before shutting off. bad plug wire might cause the miss. good luck
