Runnin' a little rough 140-160 1973

Sounds like you have a vaccuum retard distributor. If you can find a vaccuum advance distributor then that will help alot with fuel economy and power in the low end (cruising, not WOT).

If the engine is ok when cold but rough when hot then it might be running a little rich which could be caused by a sticking choke or carbs mis-adjusted.

Does the roughness sound like a misfire? If it does then it might be time to clean the points, plugs, and check the cap and rotor.

Also check your ignition timing is advanced sufficiently.

Alex.
