Daughter stuck in San Clemente 200

'daughter has mom's '79 244 in San Clemente, California. The Car won't turn over, and was losing power just before she stopped for gas. She had it jump-started and it ran for about a minute before it stalled. It has been towed to a friend's house. Amp light does not go on when key is on, but oil light does. My guess is the alternator is shot. Can someone tell me where she can get a rebuilt alternator in San Clemente? I'm in Salt Lake, so it's a bit far to drive to help. I think I can walk her through the installation if she can get the part.

The engine is from an '80 244, and the alternator has the voltage regulator on it - it's not an exterior type mounted separately on the side.

Thanks in advance.

Jim Hampton
