POR-15 Vs Zero Rust

I didn't recognize the name "Snotzalot", Paul.

All I can say is my POR-15 is still holding up. I will try some other products for my next rust project, though. Zero is something I'll try.

Actually POR-15 isn't so hard to clean before it's cured - once cured forget about it. But I don't have any need to spray it so no need to run it through an air gun. I dribbled some on my grubby, oily driveway 5 years ago - still there, tried to sandblast it, solvents didn't touch it - that should tell you something.

POR-15 won't "kill you" - but I certainly wouldn't use it in a closed area!


It's just, HOW the hell do I know this guy doing the evaluation didn't get some oil mist or something on the POR-15 part (or it wasn't cleaned as well, or some other uncontrolled factor)? Just because it's written on a web site, it's true?? You've got to acknowledge this.....listen I've been selling Amsoil for a few years now (OK 2 years) and I get total hell for that kind of "study"...people are constantly at me - yet really there has been nothing negative about the performance of the Amsoil products the whole time.

I'll tell you the worst thing about POR-15: Terrible shelf life!
