Paint Questions 200

Own a 240 and am tired of looking at a few paint chips on the drivers side door and was wondering if I should try to paint the spots myself and hope it looks good or spend the cash I cant afford to on an entire new paint job. Also if I do it by hand is there anything special I should know other then use the same color (hehe) Thanks
