Overfilled with oil 700 1986

Allright, I don't know what to say. I thought the oil level was below the dipstick (it didn't even register). But maybe I couldn't tell because the oil was clean because I changed it 500 miles ago. I added a quart and overfilled about 1/3 quart. How harmful is this to my 200,000k engine? Will the seals burst? Should I drive more tentatively for the next 500 miles (the car is weak anyway, gotta squeeze all I can get out of it)?

Secondly, after engaging overdrive on the M46 a minute or so will pass, then the car will disengage and re-engage repeatedly. I'll put it in 4th, then back into overdrive and after a few minutes this repeats. Is this a sign of the overdrive relay? If it is, I can fosterize. I read the faq, and it seemed that not being able to get into overdrive at all is a symptom of a failed relay. My feeling is something worse is wrong?

Thanks,
Nathan
