insurance claims Update

Displaying anger to the insurance rep will accomplish nothing and in fact will propably weaken your position. Remember negotiation is a game of bluff, strategy and having good information, there is no place for anger or imtimidation, it just does'nt work unless your are on the playground.
The adjuster is paid to settle for the least amount, that is his/her job, on the other hand you want highest amount possible. Why is that a reason to be "pissed"?

By going there you will may not get a resolution the spot, in fact they may try to pressure you into a premature decision.

Call them and explain that it appears that the costs are higher than anticipated and see where it leads, let them squirm a bit. Fax the estimates. Stay calm and in control. Be prepared to have them state they do not want to pay for repair if too high. Ask them to make an offer, take time to consider and then prepare yourself with values for your car from Kelly's, NADA, ads, ebay sales, wherever. Use the highest price references and throw out the lows. When you arrive at an agreed price maybe consider offer to buy back the car for a small amount. You then have options to fix or replace. Remember if you must replace the car include taxes, license fees etc.

Are they paying for your rental car?
