But if you have any reason to believe that your kid is not a safe driver when you turn him/her loose, you will hear the term "negligent entrustment" after the wreck, regardless of how you titled the car you provided. Whether or not you buy collision, comprehensive, and all that or not, do not skimp on the liability coverage, and get just as much uninsured, underinsured and medical pay coverage as they will sell you. Whaddya gonna do when your kid is hospitalized in a wreck caused by some other kid whose dad got him a separate cheapskate-limits policy? Good luck surviving the kid's teenage years.
