760GLE 1987 - Front seats issue - cold bum and invisible wife! 700 1987

I get no heat from the driver,s seat. The switch has been on for months when it's cold. Where is the likely fault? If I have to remove the seat cushion, how do I do it? I would definitely like to improve the cold relationship with my seat.

Also, even when the wife is not in the passenger seat, the seat belt warning light flashes. It's spooky. How can I best resolve this issue?

All help much appreciated.
