Hmm...pudding stirrer, eh? Its a good name, although I would have to say that it sort of implies loose, stiff, and sloppy. I much prefer the long shifter to the early short ones in 140s. Although the early 1800 short shiftes sure feel sweet...

I always heard the long ones referred to as "wobble stick"...which I think is pretty appropriate...

Oh, and that is indeed slick work in that PV... I especially like the carb setup with the float bowls to the outside of the carbs. Surely that helps a lot with boiling fuel in the floats....
