K-jet kwestion........... 200

I have an '82 245 with K-jet injection. When I start the car after it's been sitting awhile (like over an hour or so) it cranks for about 5 seconds before it starts. If it sits for less than an hour, it starts instantly. Now here's the wierd part. If the car has been sitting, even for days, and I switch the key to "on" then off, then on again (so the fuel pump runs for a second or two) then start it, it starts instantly. Could this be because the accumulator is bad and is not maintaining fuel pressure when the engine is off? Or is this just characteristic of K-jet Volvos? I ask because my friend has an '85 Benz euro 280SL with k-jet, and even if that thing sits for a month, it cranks for less than a second before it starts. What do you folks think?
