240 goes extra rich after warming up 200 1991

My 1991 240 I just baught has started to run extra rich and it will run when I disconnect the mass air meter. With it connected it will stall out after a few miles of driving. Won't start up again unless I remove the mass air meter connection. The shop had it for two days and cannot find the problem. Has anyone ever had this happen before. The plugs are all black from it running so rich. This is our forth 240, we also have a 740 and a 940 and have never had this happen before. They have checked every sensor and the fuel brain. There is one other computer thing to check tomorrow. It is a computer that works with the EGR system, I think?
