Early 240 alternator brush pack update 200 1976

Earlier this week, I had made a posting about using an internal regulator brush pack in an alternator with an external regulator.... Well, I called the Volvo shop from where I get the newer style brush pack, and they assured me that it would work. So, I disconnected teh external regulator, and put in the new brush pack. Lo and behold, it works fine. No more external regulator, new brushes...amp light still works...all is hunky dory!

Sorry, I don't have part numbers...but the old regulator had a 3 connector plug on it...all 3 of which went to the regulator, and nothing else came out of the regulator. Just swapped 'em out...total cost was about $40....probably less than list, but still...if your charging system quits working, that will usually solve the problem at much less cost than a new alternator, and you get a new regulator to boot.
