leaky side glass 200 1984

I have a 1984 245GLT with leaky side windows. I am refering to the large rear side windows in a wagon. I recently took a can of black silicon that is dispersed out of the can like cheez wiz! I sealed every place that I could see all the way around the rubber and the metal molding that's on top of the molding, but still water comes in and has now begun to rust the bottom rail that holds in the windows. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Robert
