960 Longevity Matrix, A Poll. Let's Sort This Out. 900

So, ok, my nightmare is over as far as progressing any worse. Maybe I *AM* just an unfortunate, jaded old cur.

A guy down the way, in another thread just mentioned something very interesting.... (paraphrasing).... "mine is at 100k miles and no problems" or some such.

In my case, I bought in when the car had 104k miles. For a 3 year old car, this had to be highway miles. It had full service records from Volvo Dealer. I was taken in by all the bullshit folklore of "Swedish Taxi's that get 300-400 k miles with nothing but routine maintenance"

$11 Grand in wholesale spare parts across 2.5 years and 3 complete engine failures is NOT my idea of routine.

So, lets lay it all out.

Shatz? How many miles? Jiffy Lube? What?

Dan Ray.... you are at 189k and are puking compression out of both the rings and the valves. Whats your story? When did you buy in? How much has it cost.

All you "Block Porosity" guys out there..... When? How? What kind of maint.?

See, the 'cheerleaders' and the 'detractors' both aim to help the inquisitive ones who happen upon this board. So let's sort it out right here. It could be fun and educational.
