random stalling (B230f) 200 1985

I have a 1985 245DL that stalls about once every 200 miles or so at seemingly random times. I'll just be driving along, freeway or surface street, and when I let off the throttle a bit, and the engine just quits, tach drops to zero and dash lights come on, and I coast to a stop. If I try to start it right away the starter engages but the engine does not turn over. After waiting a minute or so it starts. Except for this problem, the car runs great, even gets 25 mpg or so. I've cleaned out the throttle body and the throttle position sensor does make the clicking sound when the throttle spool is released. This did stop the idle from dropping low and then coming back up to normal after releasing throttle, but did not stop the random stalling. Fuel pump relay looks good. What could this be? Bad throttle position sensor?
