help!!! new owner 1800 1964

so i have a swarm of questions! i just bought a 1964 1800 for $5000-it less than 100 miles on totally rebuilt engine, new radiator, gas tank and muffler system. Anti-sway bars front and back, was repainted 5 years ago, and new lights and brakes .

-is that a good deal?

the only problem i found was that it was really hard to get the car out of reverse-the seller told me that he'd replaced the tranny with one from a 1971 car-when he drove it, he worked the gears smoothly, so i'm just wondering if it was me, and not the car!!!

also, does anyone know of a good place in manhattan to get the car repainted and a good mechanic?

thanks alot!

phil
