What turbos were made when?

Folks,

Just looking for a bit of enlightenment. To the best of my knowledge, the first turbo installed on a Volvo was the 1981 240 GLT. Correct? And can anyone fill me in on the progression of turbo models. I understand that early ones were a bit slow on spoolup, later ones were smaller and faster on spoolup, later ones tended to be intercooled and some have oil spray cooling and such. What manufacterures were used and when. That sort of thing. If you can point me to a good site for this, that would be great.

Bill
