Hose from intercooler pipe to TB developed tear/hole, engine backfired and now runs poorly... 700 1988

It requires extended (comparitively) cranking to start, 6-8 secs, idles fine, but is kind of flat when accecelating, when it goes into low boost it runs better but not great. This does not appear to be related to a(one) cyl but rather an overall condition. I figured vacuum leak for sure, but I've been over every single hose (I think) and no obvious leaks. I've lightly poured water on all hose connections (this has helped me find leaks in the past) but to no avail. I know how easy it is to miss the obvious sometimes, so if anybody has any help, I'm all ears.
Thanks
Steve
