'check engine' light with no symptoms...problem? 200 1993

I don't know that I have exactly a dissenting opinion on it, but I don't think the check engine light is designed to come on periodically. The service light is designed to come on periodically.

I am willing to bet that water from the car wash fouled something, turning on the light. It is likely to go off after a while as long as the problem that set it doesn't recur. I would check the diagnostic codes and find out what the deal is.
