Replaced engine mounts and exhaust manifold gaskets - Wow! 700 1990

1990 740 base

So both of these needed replacement. This was the third time in under 6 months that the exhaust manifold gaskets needed to be replaced. So I ordered some from www.volvoworld.com and they appeared to be some nice quality ones. Also got the engine mounts for about $60 something a piece. The gaskets had some metallic ring around it, so I'm assuming it won't mess up this time. The last 2 sets I had burned through, and were made of some crap paper like thing, almost like cardboard.

Got them installed, it was fairly quick. My mechanics are great guys. :)

Anyways, after this, my car runs much smoother, especially noteable at higher speeds. The shaking/rumbling from the engine is much less, and the annoying "putt putt" from the exhaust is gone, and so far so good. I've retorqued the exhaust manifold nuts to the correct amount (about 20-30) and all seems well.

I'm just happy, so I wanted to share. :-)
