Affixing a high mileage badge on a 944 900

I would like to mount mine on the vertical vanes of the front grill, but I just don't see how that adhesive tape is going to keep it in place. Especially in the midwest, where you need to use mechanized car washes during the winter. My thought is to clean up the back plate in two spots and epoxy a couple of stainless machine screws with the proper distance between them and cover the threads with some tygon clear tubing except for the last quarter inch or so. I thought I might make a brass plate drilled for the two screw holes and fasten it from behind the grill. Anyone done anything like this or have a better way?
