Tranny fluid... what kind should I use?? 200

I've got a '79 242DL B21F - 4 speed manual with Overdrive

Right now, i'm using Mobil 1 Gear oil. From what i've read in the archives, this will, in a way, prevent the Overdrive from working properly? Would this explain why thhe overdrive keeps kicking in and out of gear? I'm guessing I should be using Automatic Trans Fluid Type F, right?

and here's just another question. Does anybody have any good ideas as to how to make filling up the tranny fluid easy(easier).. I bought one of those small oil cans that you pump, because there's not enough room for a regular bottle to tilt enough to empty the darn fluid in the chamber.

Would it just be easier if I took my car to a tune-up place (Midas, Jiffy Lube, etc) and have them do a tranny fluid change? It's more expensive, obviously, than a DIY change, but is it worth the money?

Also (dang... i'm asking a lot of questions)........ what's the proper way dispose of old tranny fluid and other motor oils if i were to do the change myself? Do i just take the fluid to a tune-up place? or just trash it? or what?

Whew..... I think i'm done with all my questions..... Any information/suggestions would be Greatly appreciated. Thanks!
