Flame Trap ????? 200 1985

Greetings all! Just found this site, and am I ever impressed! I am also the new owner of an '85 GL wagon auto with OD, and after only one week, I am head over heels in love! One major prob: I've never owned a "furin" car before - don't even have any metric tools. I'm an old Detroit iron hot rod guy ('68 Camaro, '66 Charger, '56 Crown Vic, etc. and did most all my own work). Now I've got this gorgeous little Swedish gal in the driveway, and I'm kinda lost.

I've been reviewing the boards, so I'll try to fix my auto OD issue by "Fosterizing" the relay and get to it through the glove box opening! That's just to prove I can read. But will someone please tell me what in the Samuel H. Hill a FLAME TRAP is?!?!?!?!?! Also, while we are at it, where is it? I understand about PCV valves, and I kin it is related, but beyond that I'm stumped!

Loads of other questions, like how do I fix my gas gauge; where can I find seat covers that might fit; where do I find all the little parts I desperately want to replace so the ol' gal will look good again. Maybe I better start with a little more understanding about the mechanics and electricals. Any takers on explaining that Flame Trap thing-a-ma-bob?

THANKS!
