Has anyone out there done a Chevy V8 conversion? 700 1985

Has anyone done the Chevy V8 conversion? Were you pleased with the results? How did it affect the handling?, How did it impact on the total car's character? What did you do RE: transmission-(mine presently has the AW-3 speeds plus overdrive). What was the cost? Would you do it again?
