the infamous squeaky brakes 200 1989

I have a 1989 DL wgn with only 60,000 miles and I am experiencing some intermittent squeaking going on...the wife is really at her wits end.
A Volvo specialist informed me when he looked at my car last that the pads, rotors and calipers are all fine. Any nifty brake squeak remedies out there????????? All four pads are Volvo pads and it sounds like metal on metal at times from the rear. thanks much!!!!!
