Sedan springs in a wagon? 200 1986

Fellas,

This may sound like a "stupid question" (no such thing?), but would it be possible to put sedan springs on the rear of a 245? This car is hardly ever used for hauling anything 'cept for a coupla dogs and groceries. Reason I ask is that I've heard that the wagons have a much harsher ride than the sedans because the springs in the rear are stiffer for carrying heavier loads. This seems to make sense to me...when I'm driving down a particularly bad road, the front of the car seems to "asborb" the imperfections in the road surface, but when the rear end goes over 'em, it's brutal. So, can this swap be done?

Or should I just get different shocks back there? Think they're Boge's. Have heard mixed reviews of Bilsteins...some say they're "the cure," and others that they ride even harsher.
