Bumpers and other related points of interest 140-160 1970

Greetings everyone - hope the winter is treating all of your Volvos favourably!

A quick question - the front skirt/valence on my 1970 145 was damaged when I bought it, and I have since laid my lucky little fingers on another one that only needs repainting. The catch is this: it is from 1971 (or possibly later), and it has the openings for the bumper shock absorbers (they didn't have them in 1970).

Without doing any background research (going out to the wrecking yard to poke around) does/can this fit? Can I also add bumper shocks to go along with it? I don't know how they are attached, so any insights would be extremely helpful! (Before I repaint the thing, only to find that it won't fit, which would normally happen...)

Thanks a bundle!

Ross
