Removal of '90+ Rear Bumper Cover 700 1988

I went to the junkyard today for a little while and found a lot of good stuff. I'm planning on heading back tomorrow, hopefully with more knowledge on how to remove some good parts. There is a '90 744 there with the newer style rear bumper that I would somehow like to transplant onto my '88 744 in body color. It looks as though it can be done easily. How do I get the bumper and rear valence off though? I took a rear bumper cover off of a '85 740 by removing the entire bumper and pulling off the black cover. However on the '90 the plastic valence blocks the bolts to the bumper. I did a lot of pulling on the valence with no success. I already took off the nuts located in the trunk that hold the sides off the cover on. Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly.
