SU's on a turbo motor

Is there any particular reason I could not put SU carbs on a turbo motor? I am looking at an engine swap and for simplicity. I do not want the fuel injection. The turbo motor has yet to be purchased, but I do know manifolds are out there that will fit various engines. And while looking for turbo motors, any particular one that is better than others? I am looking for reliabilty first, and horsepower potential second.
