Engine question....................... 700 1991

If the engine is original, you have the large 13mm connecting rods. All B230 engines got the 13mm connecting rods as a running change early in the 1989 model year. Volvo upgraded the piston to a longer version in 93 or 94. The longer pistons and especially the piston oil cooling work to eliminate piston slap. There are plenty of engines out there with the large connecting rods and the short pistons that develop piston slap.
