122 with GM Alternator .....

I've been impressed with how tight the generator belt needs to be on
my 164.

Have you done any maintenance to your 122 fuse box? I ended up
drilling out the rivets and taking all the laminations apart,
replacing the rivets with 6-32 screws and nuts and soldering the whole
mess together. Lot fewer red lights, especially related to heavy
electrical loads. Remember that Volvo electrics make a transparent,
invisible nonconductive film on exposed surfaces!
