Here's a really vague question for you all. (weird scraping noise) 200 1987

If you use your parking brake, that is probably the culprit. If you use it, the shoes stop returning after a while. My experience is that the levers that apply the brake hang up after a while. You may have to take the disc/drums off and lubricate the mechanism. I was never able to pull them both off without breaking at least one of the clips that hold the shoes down, so I recommend that you have a few on hand before you tackle the job. Another possibility is that you are hearing the pads rubbing a little before they back off totally.
