big turbo problems now 700 1989

It sounds like a boost leak. Check all the intake hoses for proper connections and tightness. Look carefully at the small hoses at the intercooler. Don't forget, when driving normally, the inatke system is under a vacuum. The turbo will compress the air and any leak will let the boosted/compressed air out. The AMM is reading the proper amount of air but it is being let out, so the car will run rich, causing poor running.

Are you hearing a 'whoosh' sound upon boost?
