Cylnder head replacement 700 1990

I'm working on a cheap ($300) 1990 740 GLE with the dohc head.

I've almost got the head off, and I can get it rebuilt for 360.00 with exchange.
This sounds like a good price. Is it too low?

Anyway, after getting head off I will be trying to determine if further damage happened from a slipped timing belt! Anyway I can determine this before I spring for the head repair?

Also I keep seeing different references to the Green books (manuals) for different components (wiring, a/c, etc.) are these available anywhere, or just at dealer?

Anyway, I'm sure this won't be my last post on this subject, but in the meantime if anyone can help it would be appreciated.
