Code 221 and 231 200

The LH 2.4 and 3.0 systems include logic to bias the fuel mixture for normal wear and tear. I think it amounts to a memory location in the ECT that is used as the starting point for air / fuel mixture control. When the bias reaches a preset limit, it sets a fault code.

Unplugging the battery will reset this variable back to the factory default. An alternative is to pull the EFI fuse (either #1 or #31).

I found this information in the green Volvo manual. The manual includes a readable wiring diagram of the EFI and ignition systems. It was about $36 including postage and handling.
