possible purchase of an 1800 1800

right now i have a 78 245, but im thinking of getting an 1800 as well. my plan is to get the 1800 and then see which one i should keep, the 245 or the 1800. but before i go look for one seriously, i just had a few questions. how much will this cost to keep up/repair. right now my 240 doesn't cost too much to buy parts for, but its also a very common and popular car. i realize it may cost more, but i wanted to ask a few people who own them first to make sure. what are the disadvantages to owning one or working on one.

im going to buy one that runs of course, i want to be able to drive it home or atleast 30 miles without it giving me problems, but i intend to work on it to make it better or put it up to par. also, body work (except for -major- rust or deterioration) isn't a big deal to me. what can i expect to pay for such a vehicle?

also, what would be a good year range to shoot for. im sure there are some that are harder to find parts/pieces for or harder to work on than others. i was hoping to look for a 70-72 1800E/B20E. what was the difference between the 70-71 B20Es and the 72 B20E. there is a 6hp difference.
