Steering and strut problem / question 700

I have two question for the board.

a) 1992 740 GL SW: the right front end (strut ?)is making a clunk when the steering wheel is turned from side to side. The noise is there only if the car is not moving or moving very slowly (like pulling from the driveway and turning at the same time). The clunk disapears when driving faster. The front end does not emit any other noises when going over bumps, etc...
Any ideas what can be wrong ? Ibought this car recently and have a reason to believe that the strut on this side was replaced not a long time ago...

b) 1991 940 GL: the steering wheel gets "stuck" for a brief moment when turned to the left from the center position. It feels like you would be hitting a rubber plug and you have to force the whhel to go further. The "plug" is not there when you turn the steering wheel back to the center position.
Any hints where to start ?
