88 wiring harness in 86?? 200 1986

Since I couldn't work on the kid's Volvo today, I decided to go to the local pick-n-pull to see what I could find. I got a few small items and was talking with a more experienced Volvo Do-It-Yourselfer who pointed out that the wiring harness in an 88 245 we were looking at was in really good shape and that I might want to grab it if the one in my kid's brick wasn't in such good shape.

Having read the wiring harness horror stories here and with the recent realization that my kid's car is proof positive that an old Volvo will run well even if neglected (The surprises I keep finding!!), I decided to pull the harness out of this car.

Now that I have it, two questions come to mind.
Will the 88 harness work in the 86? I didn't pull apart anything I don't remember seeing in the 86.
If it's the right harness, is there anything I should do to it prior to use? I was thinking I might want to unwrap the sub-harnesses one at a time to inspect for bad insulation and then re-wrap them with the Mullah's special stretchy-sticky wrap.

If it's the wrong one I guess I'm out the nine bucks.
