ticking sound from block side of intake manifold? 700

Brickers:

Since cleaning and adjusting the spark plugs in my 1985 745t the other day I have been hearing a ticking noise emanating from the block side of the intake manifold. It sounds electrical, like someone clicking a metal snap thing or something, but I have no idea what it might be. The noise occurs at regular intervals... like maybe 1-2 times a second or so. It may have been around before I did the plugs, but I don't remember hearing it. I do know that the plugs appeared perfect when I put them back in (gapped right, proper discoloration), and appeared to be tightened perfectly.

What might be causing this ticking sound? Is it possible its a tiny leak in the intake manifold gasket? It sounds like its coming from inside the intake manifold near the head (block side?), but I can't think what would actually be in the intake manifold... If it is a plug, and it does sound like an electrical snap (like I would think the plug would make), why would I suddenly be hearing it when I didn't before?

I looked through the FAQ and didn't find any mention of this problem. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Thanks in advance,
Rick
