ATF leak after hi revs 200 1991

I was a dodobird. I was driving along at 60mph noticing some vibration so to see if it was the engine or driveline I put the Autotranny into Neutral. Since the cruise control was engaged and shifting gears doesn't disengage it, the engine revved VERY hi... at the time I thought the accelerator was stuck. To bring the revs back down (at that point i was worried about the engine), I put the tranny back into Drive (while at very high revs but I was still going about 50 mph). When I got home, ATF fluid had leaked and was burning on exhaust and dripping on driveway. The next day, all seems fine.

2 questions: Does a 1991 240 have an electronic rev limiter?

From where was the ATF leaking and why is it no longer leaking?

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.
