120/140 transmissions 140-160

I replaced clutches a couple of times on a 122 and once on a 142 several years ago, and, as I remember, the transmissions and clutches seemed to be the same. Are they? My son, who wants to replace the automatic on his '71 142 with a manual transmission, has access to a manual tranny from a 122. Someone informed me about the work involved, and that doesn't bother me if the transmissions are the same.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Jim Hampton
