Rear Differential Fix??? (Bet you have not seeing this one Toyota Tom) 900

I was getting on the freeway today when I noticed that my steering wheel was kind of hard to turn. Then I felt the right rear wheel slipping while going into a right turn. Then getting off the freeway I cornered left and same exact thing but on the left side. I drove to a friends house and pull in the driveway and turn the car off. Smoke is coming from the rear end. I look under the car and now I see oil and smoke. I turned the car on and put the car in reverse. Everything was spinning except the wheels. Even the speedometer went up. Has anyone ever broken a differential from a 960 with IRS? I am betting by the plastic/fiberglass thing that goes right under the differential this fix will not be easy at all. Has anyone ever done this fix? New differential from the dealer is $3,400, I found a place that has them for $400 with the limited slip feature. What do you all think would be a good price for labor? Thanks for the help.

Brandon
