fuel filter - i dont know what happened 700 1992

Today i changed the fuel filter on my 92' 745T when i finished i started the engine, it turn over it was running a bit lean (understood). Died a few times on the idle but now its ok. I took it for a test and the power is completly gone not even the turbo does much! I think it may be air in the lines but after 10 minutes of driving it still weak. What do i do? I know the filter is on tight and the flow is correct but maybe i did something wrong? Help?
