Synthetic Q's (Yes, I read the archives...) 200 1984

I was concerned about the synthetics opening leaks in seals and gaskets that weren't showing with dino oil, so read the archives. Basically, when I'm prepared to re-seal the engine, then I'll try it. Seems synthetic is able to flow more freely through leaks that dino oil just clogs up.

Now, my question is about sensors. My '83 VW GTI didn't leak with synthetics, but one of the two oil sensors went wacky. Stupid oil light flickers ever since. I need to replace it now, but wonder if it matters.

Will I experience something similar on my 200k 84 240 sedan?
