Do I need any large metric sockets or wrenches?

Rob, yeah, I know about the crank pulley being 24 mm. I got that one a few years ago when I did a timing belt job.

What I did not mention was that I purchased some new tools from a guy that was closing up a shop by someone that passed away, and so I got a good deal on many tools. There were some newer Craftsman with the "Headlock" relief design in larger size wrenches and sockets with the store tags still on them. Sears said they'd give me a credit card for the value of them so I didn't want to hang on to them unless I needed them, or only the ones I will need. Most guys are tool nuts and would say to keep them all, as you can never have too many tools. My 8 thru 19 mm wrenches (standard and shorts) are Snap-on FDP. Nothing else even comes close, as they say. But with the larger sizes, there's no way I would buy those from Snap-on, as the cost would be way too much for the rare usage they would get.

I also got some larger SAE sizes thrown into the deal too. I was thinking of keeping them for plumbing work when needed, but heck, I'm not so sure I would even need them for that. I have pipe wrenches for plumbing which have always worked okay. I was merely trying to get some more concrete answers.

The other thing is that I own a non-Volvo vehicle (in dispute resolution litigation), but I haven't done as much work on it as the Volvos so I have no idea if I will need them for other brand vehicles, like Toyota, Honda, Ford trucks, etc. ... ?

Btw, if you guys can't tell me what larger sizes I will need, then perhaps you can tell me what sizes I will not need.

Bruce
