Fuel Filter problems....weird ones 700 1992

I changed the fuel filter on my 745T on sunday. It wasn't too difficult and i did it in about 30 min. After i installed the new filter the engine started after a few cranks but for the first 10 min was driving very weak and unsteady. The turbo was showing boost but there was no power.
The next day the car was bad it took me almost 2 min of cranking to start the engine and even when i got it into drive i couldn't get over 10 mph! Then the idle was surging between 1000 & 1500 by itself and the engine was shaking pretty hard. After 20 min of problems the car came to life and was working better than ever and no more idle surge.
This morning got the car started then 20 sec latter it dies! I start it again and hold the rpm up at 2000 but the engine is fighting me and shaking pretty bad. It idles about 10 sec then dies again. After that i couldn't get it going again.
Can't believe all that from fuel filter i checked for kinks in the lines and correct flow but everything is ok. What's going on? Help?
