The PCV system has probably been ignored for a long time. Inspect the flame trap, flame trap housing, and the associated plumbing for blockages. It's kind of hard to get to, but the flame trap housing is under the intake manifold, on the block. There's a hose (about 1" diameter) connected to the intake hose which you can follow over to the flame trap. In the picture below, I believe it's the large curved hose on the left side.
