Highest mileage 240 on the BB? 200 1984

It's nowhere near the record, but my 1980 245 is hanging around at 423k. I replaced the engine at 310k. It's got a lower mileage rear axle and it's on its second used 4sp+od. I've had it since 99k, always kept it up, never ran it into hard objects.

Which leads me to a question for everyone out there in Brick Land:

Last year I found a really clean, tight 1992 245 with 163K. Now it's about 95% combat-ready and it's my daily driver. There are three choices for the 1980:

1. I can let it keep hanging around for an extra $400 per year insurance. But not driving a car is hard on it--and the other one is really a nicer ride. When AC season rolls around (Texas) the old one just can't keep up (although in principle the AC does actually work.)

2. I can sell it. What's the most I get--$800? Would anyone in his/her right mind buy a car with 423 thousand miles on it?

3. I can junk it, yank the transmission to swap out the AW70 in my 1992, the door pockets, copper radiator, etc. But how much off a 22-year-old car is really valuable?

And considering the mileage (I realize that's a big qualification) it's a clean car.

Thanks for any wisdom you can offer.

Doug Harvey
